A new, improved two-year Comprehensive Course in Neuropsychology is starting in February 2025. This course aims to expand psychologists' knowledge of neuropsychology and to train them in the practice of neuropsychology in the South African context. It does not lead to registration in neuropsychology but is meant to enhance knowledge of those psychologists who are already doing neuropsychological work.

Course Content

This course is designed to expand the knowledge of psychologists who completed the Basics to Beyond: Foundational Course in Neuropsychology and are practicing in the field of neuropsychology. Participants will learn more about functional neuroanatomy, neuropathology and the assessment of neuropsychological functioning in the South African context and across the lifespan. Lectures, Practical Classes, Exams and Assignment

Participants will be required to write monthly exams, attend two full-day lectures four times a year (two of the two-day sessions per year will be online, and two will be in person) and do a practical assignment involving the testing of typically developing child volunteers.

Who May Apply?

HPCSA registered Clinical, Counselling and Educational Psychologists and Neuropsychologists who have successfully completed the Basics to Beyond: Foundational Course in Neuropsychology.

Fees

Registration fee:  R3 250-00 (Discounted rate of R2 650-00 for Registered Psychologist members of Neuropsychology SA) (Click HERE to become a member of Neuropsychology SA). Fee includes the ESSI test (valued at R2 000-00). 
Plus: monthly fee of R1 380-00 to be paid over 20 months, from 1 March 2025 to 1 October 2026.
